Stepping into the Promising Horizon of 2024

As we step into the promising horizon of 2024, I am filled with optimism and gratitude. Reflecting back on our recent CAA Winter Conference at the Fairmont in San Francisco, I am reminded of the incredible energy, insightful information, and productive breakout sessions that marked the event. It was a gathering that not only educated but also inspired us all.

Dave Michel, who was honored with the distinguished Weinstock Award, was a highlight of our Conference. His contributions exemplify the spirit and dedication that drive our industry forward.

I want to also draw special attention to the introduction of the WISE (Women in the Security Evolution) group, a pivotal step forward in our collective journey towards inclusivity and diversity.

This initiative could not have been possible without the exceptional efforts of Cathy Rempel. Her dedication and tireless work in bringing together over 40 members from all aspects of the alarm industry is truly commendable. Cathy’s vision and leadership have been instrumental in creating a platform where diverse voices and experiences can contribute to the enrichment of our industry.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support of the California Alarm Association. Your commitment plays an integral role in the success of our events and initiatives.

Thanks to your sponsors, we have been able to create and host events that not only bring our community together but also significantly impact our industry in positive ways. Your belief in our mission and your willingness to contribute to our cause goes beyond financial assistance; it is a testament to your dedication to fostering growth and excellence within our industry. Your support is the backbone of our success, and for that, I am truly thankful.

I am confident that our efforts as an Association are not just reshaping the landscape in California, but are also making significant impacts on a national level. Our commitment to the betterment of the industry is unwavering and ever-evolving.

In a significant stride towards expanding our reach and influence, I am thrilled to announce the transition of the MIRROR to a digital format. This advancement will allow us to connect with over 14,000 industry professionals nationwide, amplifying our voice and ensuring that our message resonates across the country. This is not just a step forward; it is a leap into the future of our industry.

The work we undertake in California sets a precedent and has far-reaching effects across the national landscape of our industry. As we navigate the challenges and opportunities of this year, let us do so with the knowledge that our collective efforts are instrumental in shaping a robust and dynamic future for the security and life safety industry.

Here’s to a great and prosperous 2024!

Regards,

Sean Cooke
