President’s Message – A New Era for the MIRROR

Dear CAA Membership,

As we step further into this exciting year, I am thrilled to share with you the exciting developments and upcoming events that underscore our Association’s dedication to progress and advocacy in the security and life safety sector.

A New Era for MIRROR

Firstly, I want to highlight the remarkable success of the revamped MIRROR publication. With a fresh look and enriched content, we’ve embarked on a new chapter that resonates with our commitment to excellence and innovation. The feedback from our community has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s heartening to see our message reaching over 14,000 security and life safety professionals every month. This milestone is not just a testament to our Association’s growth but also reinforces our role as a pivotal source of knowledge and inspiration for the industry. We are extremely excited about this evolution and look forward to continuing to serve as a beacon of valuable insights for our members.

Day on Capitol Hill – A Call to Action

Looking ahead, I am particularly enthusiastic about our upcoming Day on Capitol Hill in Sacramento on March 12th. This event presents a unique opportunity for us to work closely with our lobbyists and engage directly with lawmakers. It’s a critical platform for addressing our concerns regarding regulations that affect our industry. Face-to-face interactions with those who shape our legislative landscape are invaluable, and I strongly encourage all members to take part in this significant day. Our collective voice is a powerful tool for advocating for the interests of our industry.

We will also convene for our Q3 Board Meeting on the morning of March 12th, setting the stage for a day of productive discussions and strategic planning.

Sacramento Area Alarm Association (SAAA) Annual Police Forum

The momentum continues on March 13th, as the Sacramento Area Alarm Association (SAAA) hosts their annual Police Forum. This year’s focus on “Video Monitoring: Industry Growth and Regulation” promises to offer insightful perspectives, featuring guest speakers Chief Jensen from BSIS and Sergeant Young of the Sacramento Police Department. It’s an excellent opportunity for our members to delve into critical discussions about the future of video monitoring and its regulatory landscape. Your participation will contribute to a broader understanding of these issues and foster collaborations that benefit our industry.

Save the Date: CAA Palm Springs Convention

Lastly, I would like to remind everyone to mark their calendars for our CAA Palm Springs Convention, happening May 15th-18th. This event is a highlight of our annual calendar, offering unparalleled networking opportunities, educational sessions, and a chance to celebrate our industry’s achievements. It’s an occasion not to be missed, and I look forward to seeing many of you there.

The California Alarm Association stands on the cusp of exciting developments and pivotal advocacy efforts. Your involvement and support are crucial to our collective success. I encourage everyone to participate in these upcoming events, as we continue to champion the interests of our industry and strive for a prosperous and more secure future.

Regards,

Sean Cooke
